Claire, Dave and Cat went to England for the first time this year and what a great time we had! Spent a week over there and really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed with Uncle Tony and Auntie Pam and used Tunbridge Wells our our base for excursions. Claire even got her own room but ended up sleeping in our bed most nights.
On the Saturday we went to a farm with lots of animals etc and Claire loved to feed the sheep. She also tried the jumping castle for the first time and got addicted instantly. Also, prying her away from the merrygoround took a while..
Liz and the kids came by Saturday evening and we were going to spend Sunday at their place. Liz was also showing Steve off. Liz's boys are either camera shy or just full of cheek - knowing this family it is most probably the latter!
We decided on a BBQ for Sunday and Liz picked us up early-ish on Sunday morning.
To say that the garden needed some cleaning up before the BBQ is a slight understatement - but we had lots of helping hands and after a few hours it was looking great. We got the barbie fired up and Steve was appointed head chef. We really had a great time.
During our time in England we also went to London Zoo and Luton Castle and had great plans of spending a whole day at Kew Gardens. Alas the day we were waiting for the train up to London to take us to Kew, was the same day of the terrible bombs going off in London so we never did make it to Kew this year. Nevermind tho, there will always be another time.
Lots of thanks and love to Uncle Tony and Auntie Pam who put up with us for a week - we so enjoy their hospitality. Love and thanks also to Liz and her family for a great day, Claire loved it so much and still gets very agitated and excited talking about Magge, Drew and Alec months after she met them when we're looking at the photoes :-)
